The Story Behind the Results…

Let’s be honest… A year ago I had never heard of Plan B Consultants, Inc. and now it is a very big part of my day-to-day life! Why? Why did I choose to join Plan B instead of one of the other companies I interviewed with, and even received offers from? Well, it came down to one simple thing… PASSION! Passion is what brought me to join this team, passion is what motivates us to serve our hotel partners every day, and passion is what drove Amy to start the business.

From the first time I met Amy Infante, I knew there was something special about what she and her team were doing. That feeling only grew as I began learning more about Plan B throughout the interview process. I knew that the company culture and environment would give me the chance to continually learn and grow as a professional. What I didn’t know at the time, was just how much! While I still have much to learn, over the past 10 months working alongside Amy and our team here at Plan B Consultants, Inc. and Sales4Hire™, I have come to understand (and love) this unique and ever changing industry.

So, you’re probably still wondering just how did Plan B get its start? Well… During the mid-2000s, our Founder and CEO Amy Infante, moved throughout the United States with her husband Giovanni. As he was working in the corporate business world and she in hospitality, they often chose to relocate to pursue exciting new opportunities for each of them. During this process, Amy was gaining invaluable experience with various hotel companies and property types, yet constantly having to “start over” when it came to prospecting and building a sales pipeline for her properties. In doing so, she realized that unfortunately, sales turnover is a major challenge facing the hotel industry.  With the start-stop phenomena that comes from having to find & train a new sales manager in many cases even before their year anniversary, there was no effective way to continually prospect for new opportunities, without putting undue pressure on other team members. That is when Amy decided that there had to be a better way… Someone had to be able to provide consistency to these hotels that were in transition. Amy took a leap-of-faith, and “built-an-airplane” on the way down, as they say… It all started with part-time task force, and quickly evolved into providing hotel consulting, analysis work, sales appointment-setting, and lead generation for hotels across the country.

Overtime, the business has shifted and grown with the industry & market demands, but the “why” has always remained the same.  We believe in serving the hospitality industry with consulting and “done for you” solutions that tackle the challenges of high turnover, inconsistent proactive sales, and a need for up-leveled skills.  Amy often playfully reminds us that she never had any intentions of being an entrepreneur (hence the name Plan B), but as a small business owner she has now developed a deep understanding, connection, and passion for helping other business owners & leaders overcome the thing that keeps them up at night: inconsistent revenue.

Plan B Consultants, Inc. incorporated in 2006, and opened our operations center in Amy’s home town of Wisner, Nebraska in 2011. In ten years, what started as a one-woman shop has prospered into a team of almost twenty working out of the Nebraska headquarters. We have a strong leadership team, remote business partners, employees throughout the country, and hotel partners across the globe!
