I get the pleasure of connecting with a lot of hotel owners throughout the week. The common theme of our conversations goes a little something like this:
“I’ve done my research. My asset is where it is supposed to be. I’ve invested in the right things. I’ve put the people in place, and now I’m frustrated because they aren’t getting it done. It’s become a huge distraction from me moving on to my next investment.”
For the past several months, I’ve been working with a hotel owner who is beyond frustrated over the past 4 years with his asset’s sales performance. It’s in a prime location, he invested in a complete refurbish of a historic building, and he has listened to countless consultants and “expert” advice on what else he needs to do to make the revenue needed to keep the property in the black. He’s followed almost every bit of sound advice, and is willing and able to invest in the resources needed. In short, he’s a good guy, a solid and smart business person and truly passionate about running successful businesses.
Unfortunately, his experience with the sales & marketing team has been one problem after another, and he’s lost trust in the process. They’ve had great difficulty in finding talent at the price they can afford, and when they do that person either leaves quickly for another opportunity once they’ve used the experience to further their career, or they just simply didn’t produce revenue and were let go to do something else. Most recently, the sales manager they hired to start just simply was a no show for the first day on the job. You heard me right…a complete NO SHOW! Lucky for this owner, he has a steady hand as he recently invested in Sales4Hire™ to take on all sales & marketing functions of the hotel, and our team is there to support and ensure stability internally and with the customers. Meanwhile, our Sales4Hire Manager stole business from the hotel’s biggest competitor during the fiasco with hiring an on-site sales manager.
As a business owner, I feel the pain and frustration of the hotel owners that I work with. I also know the first-hand the frustrations of finding talent, losing talent, letting under-performers move on to find their true talent. The cost of turnover to a business is high, and hiring properly and retaining that talent is critical. With Sales4Hire’s structure, this is the only solid way I have found to ensure hotel owners have top talent that will be retained for as long as they choose. This eliminates turnover as we utilize the talent of our individual Sales4Hire Management, but also provides this talent with what they need to be successful…systems and processes through our Operations Center, such as Right Fit Lead® Prospecting, Activation Service, Sales Safari™ Sales Blitzes, A manageable sales software for tracking & reporting, business and market insights for making better decisions, etc.
