Amy Infante’s Top 5 Books for Leaders

Books for Leaders
We asked our CEO, Amy Infante, to put together a list of her top five books about leadership, business and mindset.  She selected the following books for leaders interested in transforming themselves, their teams, and organizations.
1. Start With Why – Simon Sinek

Amy’s Notes: This book was a game-changer for me to really get clear on my own ‘why’ and how I could relay that to my organization and customers in a meaningful way.

Small Excerpt: “The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.”

2. The Energy Bus – Jon Gordon

Amy’s Notes: A short & easy, but powerful read on how positive mindset directly affects our lives.

Small Excerpt: “You haven’t failed until you stop trying.”

3. It’s Not About You: A Little Story About What Matters Most In Business – Bob Burg & John David Mann

Amy’s Notes: Powerful but easy read business parable.  To this day, I look at everything I do in business from a new lens because of this book.

Small Excerpt: “The single biggest challenge to any organization is the constant cloud of fear and doubt that swirls around the heads of the people involved. As a leader, your job is to hold fast to the big picture, to keep seeing in your mind’s eye, with crystal clarity, where it is you’re going—that place that right at this moment exists only in your mind’s eye. And to keep seeing that, even when nobody else does.

Especially when nobody else does.

Your people count on you to do this. It’s the biggest job you have.”

4. The Obstacle is The Way – Ryan Holiday

Amy’s Notes: I had my team read this, too!  A great book about agility and viewing “problems” as opportunities.

Small Excerpt: “There is no good or bad without us, there is only perception. There is the event itself and the story we tell ourselves about what it means.”

5. The Miracle Morning – Hal Elrod

Amy’s Notes: Every successful leader I’ve ever spoken to or observed from a distance has a morning routine that sets their day on a positive track.  This book gives a great framework and ideas. I make it my own, but I read this book several years ago and it changed the way I start my day.

Small Excerpt: “Remember, the moment you accept total responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you claim the power to change anything in your life.”

Reading these books for leaders can have a lasting impact on your career path and projection!
